| "I Have To Mow My Lawn": Get control of your lawn with ease.

Are you forever asking someone to "mow my lawn" since you can't tolerate the look of it. You need to get your lawn under control so mowing becomes a pleasure and relaxing. There are two primary reasons people stress about their family lawn and yard. Lets take a look at them. First, an uncontrollable and unsightly family lawn is hard to care about maintaining. You may question "Where do I start?";Good question.
Lets start in the front yard and move your way around the house. Start with the gardens. You will want to leave to leave the planting the way it is for the moment, so you don't feel overwhelmed. This is a cause of stress. Make a strategy and srick to it. Do everythingin chunks or areas and stick with it until you finish. Back to the gardens, make sure sure to edge your garden well so that it is delineated from the lawn. Dig a 2-3" deep trench approximately 3-4 inches across. This will render it easier to mow and weed wack. If you start in the morning and focus on the edging and don;t worry about all of the othe things you will be able to finish. Maybe you can accomplish it at one time, but if it takes the weekend, don't worry. You willbe finished and have it out of the way.
With a wll defined lawn you can start on the weeds in the lawn. If you so this at the start of spring or early fall start by aerating your lawn. Then add ocerseeding and top dressing to bring your yard to life.
The next large stress inducer is your equipment. Having quality tools is essential and makes your day of yard work easier. Start buy giving your mower and overhaul. Drain and refill the oil, install a new plug. Remove the blade and sharpen it. You can hone your blade by using a grinding wheel or with a file and old fashioned hard work. While the blade is removed clean the underside of the mower. Remove all of the caked on old grass and wash the entire mower. Before putting the blade back on - check if your mower is a mulching mower. If it is be certain the blade is a mulching blade. If you don;t have one you can purchase one. This makes clean up easier when you are done mowing. Now with a great looking lawn and quality tools you will be in a better frame of mind when it comes to mowing. Use the lawn jobs a a way of getting away from the hectic work week and take pleasure in the outdoors. You will be finished in no time and can enjoy the rest of the day. |
