| Do’s and Don’ts on Airport Parking

Even if airport parking is secured there are still some things that one should do and shouldn’t do.
Do’s
• Make reservations ahead of time to make sure there is available space for the car to park in
• Make certain that the insurance policy is up to date and includes provisions for theft, vandalism, carjacking, etc.
• Make certain that stickers like handicapped parking or papers supporting handicapped claims are validated and up to date
• Make certain that the car security is set at the highest security mode
• Make certain that the vehicle is free of any valuables or tempting materials
• Make certain that the doors are locked when left in the parking lot
• Make certain that the number and lot area are noted and photographed for easy accessibility
• Make certain that all lights are off
Don’ts
• -leave the car with no insurance policy
• -leave any valuables inside the vehicle, even if it is just a piece of paper, these can tempt
• -leave the car door unlocked
• -park far away from light posts
• -park where the angle of the security camera cannot detect movements
• -park near the edge of the lot where there are hedges, fences or trees where vandals can hide
• -forget to lock the doors and set the alarm to maximum security
• -forget the lot number where the car is parked. Always keep the receipt of payment within easy reach at all times.
If the do’s and don’ts are followed to the letter the car should be safe enough in the secured parking lots. However, this does not mean that there will never be a chance for any vandalism or theft on the car.
